“Blasphemy is a victimless crime” is a popular saying among atheists. Right now, in Bangladesh, the victims of blasphemy are the blasphemers. Several atheist bloggers have been arrested, with Muslims in the country calling for them to be executed. For blasphemy.
Some organizations have organized protests for today and May 2.
An international coalition of atheist and humanist organizations, led by the Center for Inquiry and our partners the International Humanist and Ethical Union and American Atheists, will protest the arrest and persecution of atheist bloggers and other dissenters in Bangladesh with demonstrations in New York City, Washington, D.C., London, Ottawa, and other cities around the world on Thursday, April 25, and Thursday, May 2.

Hemant’s post on this also refers to the “B”s you may have seen as people’s profile pictures. The image is being used a way to show support for the atheist bloggers imprisoned for daring to criticize the kind of religion that would call for their deaths for doing so.
